Fórsa had a requirement for a new shared space including hot desking for union staff, board meetings, breakout/relaxation space, training sessions and large conferences of 200+ people but at a new level of specification. We assisted them in carrying out a property search which resulted in them purchasing the building, leaving just over 8000 sq. ft. available to design for their own needs.
We retained the central core for services including an enhanced electrical and comms area to house the central servers for the business. The rest of the space was split into office space, meeting areas, reception, and a large conferencing area which can be used for meetings from 2 – 200 people. Connecting the office space and the conferencing area is a large breakout area and canteen which draws people to a central collaborative area.
The offices are a mix of single use and multiple desk spaces separated with double glazed partitioning which allows the spread of natural light, as well as addressing sound proofing issues. A boardroom seating 20 people with large format folding tables and leather finished chairs gives a high quality finish but also gives flexibility when required. In the conference space, the installation of multiple folding walls and an advanced AV system allows for flexibility and enables the rapid re-configuration for a variety of meetings and conference areas.
The canteen and breakout space has a variety of seating options from café tables and chairs to large dining booths which double up as private working or small meeting pods within the busy environment. Clever use of paint finishes, floating rafts, linear & pendant lighting creates a sense of height which is shared with the circulation space within the space.
