PROJECT CASE STUDY
Creating a Scalable Global Headquarters for Origina
Origina, Dublin
- Project Size: 12’200 Sq ft
- Location: Dublin
- Activity: Office Design & CAT B Fitout, Furniture
- Duration: 12 weeks
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Having expanded significantly across the globe in recent years, Irish-owned IT consultancy firm, Origina, needed a new headquarters that represented the brand’s reach and ambitions.
We set out to create a space that supports future growth while reflecting the strength of Origina’s brand and culture.
With teams spread across multiple geographies, supporting ways of working locally, and broader collaboration, was key. The Dublin HQ will also serve as a space for hosting clients so first impressions and experience were a priority
BUILDING SPEC
Already situated in Dublin’s tech hub – Sandyford, Origina wanted to stay in this area.
The Termini is a four-storey Grade A office accommodation occupying a prominent position in Sandyford, adjacent to two Luas Stations. The building is LEED Gold certified, with thinner, post-tensioned floor plates to reduce concrete use, sustainable drainage systems and floor to ceiling glazing for occupant wellbeing and reduced energy demands.
Origina leased the second floor, front-facing space to accommodate their local team.
ELEVATING THE BRAND
From the moment you enter, the reception sets a confident, professional tone. Warm walnut, inset feature rugs, large format porcelain tiles, and ambient lighting create a premium environment, while the illuminated world map reinforces Origina’s global reach.
A client experience suite is situated off the main reception area, carrying through the elevated, hospitality-driven aesthetic.
The area features an 18-seat boardroom, smaller meeting rooms and a supporting lounge with expansive views, bespoke joinery and functional furniture.
SUPPORTING WAYS OF WORKING
Throughout the office, flexibility and collaboration were central. The open plan integrates hot-desking, high tables, and informal breakout areas to encourage spontaneous teamwork and cross-functional interaction.
A number of bespoke booths were constructed for focus work or taking calls without the distractions of the open plan.
A dedicated ‘lab’ space provides various settings for brainstorming and collaboration. Recording and content creation zones enable internal comms and marketing to scale with the business.
EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
In contrast to the main office, the townhall space was designed to simulate a coffee shop environment, to encourage the team to switch off on their breaks. It can also be reconfigured to suit company-wide gatherings without disrupting day-to-day work.
Throughout the space material choices, lighting, and biophilic elements were carefully considered to create an energising yet professional atmosphere. Curved forms, layered lighting, and integrated greenery make the space feel welcoming and comfortable for the team using it every day.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the design and specification process.
On the construction side, we maximised retention of the existing CAT A fitout for HVAC, ceiling, lighting and the raised access floor, reconfiguring components as required. We also made sustainable swaps in plasterboard where possible.
In terms of specification, furniture was sourced from suppliers with a proven track record in sustainability. Across acoustics, flooring, surface treatments and hardware, selections were made based on the manufacturing process, recycled content and circularity.
THE PARTNERSHIP
It’s been a highly collaborative process working with the Origina team. Together we’ve created a workplace that not only supports the business today but is built to adapt as the company continues to scale globally.
Throughout every stage, our client enjoyed a single point of contact, streamlining communication for quick decision-making, to keep the programme on track.
The result is a modern, future-ready headquarters that gives Origina a space their people can feel proud of, and a workplace that truly represents the next stage of their growth.
Working with Calibro has been a really collaborative process from day one. They took the time to understand not just what we needed today, but what the organisation will need in the years ahead.
It felt less like working with a vendor and more like working with a partner who genuinely cares about getting this right for our people and for the future of Origina.
