CLIENT BRIEF
The new space required redesigning to cater to DLC’s own business needs and ensure it supported a post Covid-19 way of working.
Donaldson Legal Consulting are a growing organisation based out of Holywood, on the outskirts of Belfast providing innovative legal services to clients in the investment banking and funds sectors across the UK. To assist with their growth plans, they required consolidation of their existing office buildings into one location which required a complete office design, fitout and relocation.




The main floor areas were designed to comfortably accommodate new desk spaces for all staff, featuring acoustic screens to control noise levels in the open-plan environment and additional clip-on transparent protection screens between each desk. A bespoke carpet design was also created to visually encourage traffic flow throughout the space. Heat Recovery Units have also been installed to provide up to 5 fresh air changes per hour.
A new meeting room was designed into the space featuring a whiteboard wall where staff can collaborate on and brainstorm ideas or hold private meetings. This features full-height glazed partitioning to increase acoustic performance whilst allowing natural light to flow throughout the entire space.


To encourage socialisation and to help connect with colleagues in a post Covid-19 world, Two kitchen and breakout spaces were designed across both floors featuring a range of seating types where staff can break away from their desks to catch-up with colleagues in a more relaxed environment.
To assist with the space rationalisation and to align with DLC’s tidy workstation policy, lockers were also added to each floor in lieu of underdesk pedestals, providing staff with central individual storage space for personal belongings.



Calibro have been very supportive through the process from the initial concept right through to handing over the keys. They have identified problems and delivered solutions which meet our needs and delivered the project on time and on budget despite the difficulties presented by the Covid restrictions.
